BATC 2024 Results: Bend Thailand 3-1, Indonesia Failed To Final

JAKARTA The Indonesian women's badminton team failed to reach the 2024 Badminton Asia Team Championship (BATC) final after being beaten by Thailand.

Indonesia must recognize the advantage of the opposing team with a score of 1-3 at the Setia City Convention Center, Selangor, Malaysia, Saturday, February 17, 2024 at noon WIB.

Indonesia failed to get a final ticket after the women's doubles Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi/Rachel Alllessya Rose who took part in the fourth party lost 22-24 straight games and 14-21 against Benyapa Aimsaard/Nuntakarn Aimsaard.

"The game in the first game can indeed run tight. Until the setting occurs. Unfortunately, we failed to get the chance to win, we failed to get it. Only in the game the two opponents had anticipated it," said Amalia.

In this match, Indonesia first lost two points after Putri Kusuma Wardani and women's doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto lost in the first two parties.

Indonesia then succeeded in reducing the position to 1-2 in the third match. The only point for the Red and White team was obtained by the women's singles Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo.

Rachel said that they lost because they often made mistakes on their own. On the other hand, the opponent plays pressing so consistently.

"Still grateful even though the result was we lost. We actually don't want to lose either. There are more defeats because the opponent plays better and is also more experienced. The mentality is better than us. There are many lessons that can be learned from here," he said.

The women's team is the defending champion in this event. For that, this defeat made the women's team fail to defend their title.

Previously, Indonesia had lost the men's sector. The men's team itself failed to reach the semifinals after losing to China in the quarter-finals.
