Mohamed Salah Is Ready To Compete When Liverpool Face Brentford

JAKARTA - Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has confirmed the readiness of his star Mohamed Salah to play in the match against Brentford in Week 25 of the Premier League. In a press conference session, Klopp stated that Salah had recovered from a muscle injury he suffered while defending Egypt in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, and had been fully trained this week.

"Mo is back in full training, so it automatically brings him into competition of course," Klopp said, launching from the club's official website, Saturday.

Apart from Salah, Klopp also gave good news about several other key players. Ibrahima Konate, Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez, and Alisson Becker will certainly be able to take part in the match. However, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Thiago Alcantara were announced to be absent.

Klopp also discussed Alexander-Arnold and Szoboszlai's prospects to return to play in the League Cup final against Chelsea on February 25, saying that while Szoboszlai may have a small chance, Alexander-Arnold will probably try to get back on time.

"I'm going to say, I'm not sure Szoboszlai has a chance for the final but maybe, and Trent will probably catch up," said the German coach.

"The way they play, the way they organize it with or without Toney makes a difference, having all the players returning from the Africa Cup of Nations makes a difference," he said.. "If you want to win at Brentford, you definitely have to be in the best condition. This is a team that is very smartly trained."

The German coach stressed the importance of the players being in the best condition of facing Brentford, given the well-organized game by the home team. Liverpool are currently leading the standings with 54 points, while Brentford is in 14th place with 25 points.

The win in this match will give Liverpool a five-point lead, ahead of their closest competitors, Manchester City and Arsenal, which will take place a few hours later.
