Justin Hubner Says The Indonesian National Team Has Analysis Of Iraqi Power

Justin Hubner is optimistic that the Indonesian national team can beat Iraq in the inaugural match of Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian vs Iraq national team will take place at Ahmed bin Ali Stadium on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 21.30 WIB. This match is their first match in Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup.

Indonesian national team player Justin Hubner said he and his teammates together with the coaching team had analyzed Iraqi power through video recordings of matches.

From the results of the monitoring, Justin did not deny that Iraq was a strong team. This has also been proven when Iraq defeated the 5-1 Indonesian national team in the second round of the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification on November 16, 2023.

However, said Justin, Indonesia's chances of defeating Iraq remain wide open. He ensured that all players would fight to get the best results.

"Yes, we had a lot of analytical sessions. So, we watched them. See what they were going to do. They have a strong team, but we are also strong," said Justin Hubner.

"So, we have a great opportunity to beat them. We will fight and show people what we can," he said.

Justin then talked about the most prominent force from Iraq. One of them is Iraq, reinforced by experienced senior players.

"Their strength is that they have a composition of players with a lot of experience. Meanwhile, our team is a bit young. However, that shouldn't be a problem," said the Wolverhampton Wanderers U-21 player.

Regarding the bad results in the three test matches ahead of the 2023 Asian Cup, Justin considered it not a real benchmark.

The Indonesian national team was defeated twice by Libya with a score of 0-4 and 1-2, and silenced by Iran 0-5.

"It's a process for the Asian Cup. You can't expect us to win every game. However, we learn every game. So, we train and work hard and we will be ready for the Iraqi team," said the 20-year-old.

Apart from Iraq, Indonesia will also meet Vietnam (19/1/2024) and Japan (24/1/2024) in Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup.
