AFC President Promises 2023 Asian Cup To Be The Best Edition He Has Ever Held

JAKARTA - The 2023 Asian Cup will start rolling in Qatar on January 12-10 February 2024. AFC president Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa promised this year's edition to be the best ever.

This statement was expressed by Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa because he reflected on the existing situation. According to him, there have been many positive changes made in this edition, not only from the field, but also off the field.

Moreover, the appointment of Qatar as the host this year has made confidence about the success of the 2023 Asian Cup also increase.

The reason is, Salman acknowledged the capabilities of the Qatar Football Federation and the Qatar 2023 Asian Cup Local Organizing Committee who had experience when organizing the 2022 World Cup.

I know that teams, players, and hundreds of millions of Asian football fans around the world are looking forward to this tournament. Now the best tournament ever to be held will soon," Salman said from the Al Arab page on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

"Since Qatar was chosen as the tournament organizer, we have known that this will be the first edition in the history of the Asian Cup held at the World Cup stadium," Salman said again.

In the 2023 Asian Cup, the AFC President also confirmed the participation of the female referee in the list of referees on duty later.

In addition, the 2023 Asian Cup will also implement a semi-automatic offside system and fully implement video assistant referee (VAR).

Along with the 2023 Asian Cup, Salman said that the E-Asian Cup esports tournament would also take place at the same time.
