The Indonesian National Team Defeated 0-5 In The Last Trial Match Against Iran

The Indonesian national team completed a trial agenda during the TC to prepare for the 2023 Asian Cup (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team underwent their last test match against Iraq Al Rayyan Training Site, Qatar, Tuesday (9/1/2024) at 18.00 local time or 22.00 WIB.

Shin Tae-yong's team lost with a landslide score of 0-5. In the first half, they were already three goals behind.

Iran scored a quick goal through Shaman Ghoddoos in the second minute. Roozbeh Cheshmi then doubled the lead in the 21st minute. Saman Fallah entered the next scoreboard in the 35th minute.

In the second half, the Indonesian national team struggled to catch up. Iran did appear superior in the match-training party.

They scored two more goals in the second half in the last 20 minutes. Mehdi Ghayedi made a brace in the 71st and 87th minutes at the same time locking the win.

This last trial match was held behind closed doors without live broadcasts. Both teams agreed before the match to keep the match a secret.

You see, the Indonesian and Iranian national teams are both competing in the 2023 Asian Cup. So, their strength does not want to be known against the group stage.

The Garuda squad is in Group D of the 2023 Asian Cup. They will meet Iraq in their inaugural match on January 15, 2024. Then, they will face Vietnam (19/1/2024) and Japan (24/1/2024).

Then, Iran is in Group C of the 2023 Asian Cup with the United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, and Palestine.

Meanwhile, the Indonesian national team still has time for a follow-up training camp in Qatar. Shin Tae-yong plans to announce the final squad or 26 players who will be brought to the 2023 Asian Cup on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.
