AS Roma Will Be Juventus' Easy Opponent

JAKARTA - AS Roma is not a minor opponent. Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri stated that he was still aiming for victory even though having to fight hard against the team was not easy in the Italian Serie A duel at the Allianz Arena Stadium, Sunday, January 1, 2024 in the morning WIB.

Roma became Juve's toughest test. However, Allegri still targets three points in home games to maintain competition with Inter Milan who lead the standings.

Currently, Juve, who is in second place, have 40 points. Four points adrift of Inter who will face Genoa.

Juve were slightly seeded in the match against Roma. Moreover, the Bianconeri showed a good trend. They were unbeaten during the previous five matches, including a narrow 2-1 win over Frisonone.

"We had a good period. But we still stand on earth. For now we haven't had half of the competition. So, we'll see how the next two matches are. From there we know where we are," said Allegri.

Roma is definitely not an opponent that can be taken lightly. In the last match, Jose Mourinho's team showed their best performance by rolling over defending champions Napoli 2-0.

This victory is also the beginning of the Giallorossi's revival after losing 2-0 against Bologna.

Roma need additional points to hunt for the Champions League zone. Currently, Roma is still in sixth place with 28 points.

"We are facing a frustrated opponent. The team is handled by one of the best coaches. He will not let you take advantage. If he is not careful, he will beat you. We have to be patient with them," he said.

Allegri said that Roma is a strong team that also has big ambitions like Juve. I Lupi's success in defeating Napoli shows that they really have to be wary of.

"It's a game against a strong team with the same big ambition. Last week, they beat Napoli in a tough game. I estimate we will have a tough match," he said.

Juve was again strengthened by Dusan Vlahovic striker who was in a sharp battle with Roma's mainstay, Romelu Lukaku.

The two players will have an exchange between Chelsea and Juve. But the plan failed. Chelsea then loaned Lukaku to Rome.
