Dwigol Hwang Hee-chan Wins Wolves Over Brentford

JAKARTA - South Korean star Hwang Hee-chan scored two goals which gave Wolverhampton Wanderers a 4-1 win over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium, Thursday, December 28 in the morning WIB.

Hwang, an Asian star, is increasingly shining in the Premier League. After Son Heung-min, who is now captain of Tottenham Hotspur and Wataru Endo, the captain of the Japanese national team, began to establish himself as Liverpool's pillar, now Hwang has been increasing since joining Wolves since 2021.

Hwang is also a mainstay in front of the team. The productivity of the 27-year-old player's goals is indeed capable.

He has scored 10 goals which make him the club's top scorer. In the Premier League, he is ranked sixth on the list of the top goalscorers. Meanwhile, Son, who is ranked fifth, has already collected 11 goals.

In the match against Brentford, Hwang again showed his sharpness by scoring a brace as well as bringing the team to two consecutive wins. Previously, Wolves played brilliantly by beating Chelsea 2-1.

Manager Gary O'Neill did not hesitate to praise Hwang's brilliant performance. According to him, this South Korean national team player is really able to make it difficult for Brentford.

"We can maximize opportunities because we have Hwang. He creates a lot of problems for opponents," said O'Neill.

"In this match, we are really clinical. Rarely there are teams that can win up to 4-1 in away matches. So fans can enjoy this victory," he said again.

Victory over The Bees saw Wolves move up to 11th with 25. Wolves points equal to Chelsea and Bournemouth.

Gary O'Neill's side still lost on goal difference with Chelsea, but they were ahead over Bournemouth.

Meanwhile, Brentford is still struggling at the bottom. The team is ranked 15th with 19 points. Brentford is four points ahead of Luton Town who is in the relegation zone.

In that match midfielder Mario Lemina opened Wolves' win with a goal in the 13th minute. His header which met Pablo Sarabia's long cross managed to break into the opponent's goal.

Only one minute later, Hwang confirmed the team's advantage to 2-0. He took advantage of defender Nathan Collins' mistake in making back-passes towards goalkeeper Mark Flekken.

Only his weak shot was won by Hwang who came faster to welcome the ball than Fleken. Hwang won the ball race and broke into the empty Brentford goal.

The match is heating up as Brentford quickly gets up and reduces the lag. Winger Yoane Wissa scored after receiving a pass from Neal Maupay to beat goalkeeper Jose Sa in the 16th minute.

But Wolves are unstoppable. Hwang scored his second goal which changed the score to 3-1 in the 28th minute. The goal put the win in Wolves' hand.

In the second half, Wolves no longer fired. Their game declined slightly and strengthened the defense sector. Nelson Semedo et al managed to properly stem Brentford's attack.

Even the visitors managed to strengthen their lead when Jean-Ricner Bellegarde broke into Fleken's goal in the 79th minute. The score changed to 4-1 for Wolves and lasted until the final whistle sounded.
