BANGKALAN - Madura United FC managed to win the match against Barito Putra with a final score of 4-1 in the continued match of BRI Liga 1 Indonesia 2023-2024 at Gelora Bangkalan Stadium, East Java, on Sunday, December 10.

A goal from the visitors was scored by Gustavo Tocatins in the 28th minute, while three goals from the home team were obtained through Malik Resaldi's action in the 41st minute, Hugo Gomes in the 66th minute, and Dalberto in the 94th minute and Francisco Rivera in the 97th minute.

This victory is Madura United's first win after previously losing five defeats in their last five matches.

In the first half, both teams appeared to attack, but no goal was scored until the 26th minute. Barito Putra managed to open the scoring through Gustavo Tocatin's goal after using Bagas Kaffa's pass.

Madura United then equalized to 1-1 through Malik Risaldi's goal in the 41st minute. In the second half, Hugo Gomes managed to bring Madura 2-1 up through a penalty execution.

During injury time, Dalberto and Francisco Rivera added two more goals for Madura United, bringing the final score to 4-1.

"We did win this match, but improvements still need to be made," said Madura United FC coach Mauricio Souza.

With this victory, Madura United FC is currently in fifth position in the BRI Liga 1 Indonesia 2023-2024 standings with 34 points, while Barito Putra is in ninth position with 29 points.
