Guwahati Masters 2023: 2 Indonesian Representatives To The Semifinals

Alwi Farhan fell in the quarter-finals of the Guwahati Masters 2023 (doc. PBSI).

JAKARTA Only two of the eight Indonesian representatives qualified for the semifinals of the Guwahati Masters 2023 at the Saru Sajai Indoor Sports Complex.

The two representatives who remained in the BWF Super 100 level event were the men's singles Yohanes Saut Marcellyno and Alvi Wijaya Chairullah.

Yohanes kept Indonesia's hopes after repatriating Singapore's representative and eighth seed, Jia Heng Jason Teh. Meanwhile, Alvi stopped sixth seed from France, Alex Lanier.

In the semifinals, Saturday, December 9, 2023, both of them will face representatives of Malaysia. Yohanes clashed with Cheam June Wei and Alvi will meet Justin Hoh.

Meanwhile, the six Indonesian representatives who have to go home are Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, Meilysa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Alllessya Rose, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah, Alwi Farhan, Amri Syahnawi/Winny Oktavina Kandow, and Jesita Putri Miantoro/Febi Setianingrum.

Dejan/Gloria, who are the first seeds, had to lift the suitcase after losing to Mads Vestergaard/Christine Busch (Denmark).

Then the women's doubles duo Meilysa/Rachel and Putri/Febi consecutively had bad luck against Setyana Mapasa/Angela Yu (Australia) and the host representatives Tanisha Crasto/Ashwini Ponnappa.

Furthermore, Alwi Farhan fell against Justin Hoh, Marcus/Rayhan lost against Lin Bing-Wei/Su Ching Heng (China Taipei), and Amri/Winny were tackled by Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crasto (India).
