Thomas Doll Still Highlights The Conclusion Of Persija's Front Line

Thomas Doll admits that Persija Jakarta's front line needs to be fixed (VOI/Ulfa Gusti) immediately.

JAKARTA - Persija Jakarta had to settle for taking one point after playing the 1-1 draw when they hosted Persita Tangerang. This is the result of the second series in two consecutive matches.

Persija and Persita met in the 21st week of Liga 1 2023/2024 which was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, Sunday, December 3, 2023.

Had taken the lead in the 67th minute through Maciej Gajos' kick, the Kemayoran Tiger squad did not last long. Persita replied through Ezequiel Vidal's goal in the 74th minute and made it 1-1.

The results of this series clearly make Thomas Doll as Persija Jakarta coach disappointed. Appearing in front of 33 thousand supporters themselves, Persija is actually still unable to show their spurs.

Doll admits that his team is difficult to win for several reasons. One of the highlights of the German coach is the sharpness of the front line.

He said that in the match against Persita, there were actually many opportunities created, but the team had difficulty scoring goals. The poor end made a number of golden opportunities wasted.

"We've tried our best. We created a lot of chances, but we weren't able to score (only one goal)," Thomas Doll told a news conference after the game.

This isn't the first time we've made many chances, but failed to score. This is our biggest problem this season. We've tried our best, but in the end (the series), this is football," he added.

This series result is clearly a big loss for Persija, especially this week they appeared as the host. In fact, they have more motivational injections to be able to provide maximum results in front of their own supporters.

"If we want to win a football game, we have to score. We made it (goal), but we lost two more points like in previous matches. I think this is our biggest problem," continued Doll.

Despite the disappointment with the final result in the match against Persita, Thomas Doll still expressed his appreciation for the hard work of his players on the field.

Doll is determined to help Persija to improve and stop the bad trend of throwing away maximum points.

"I can only say I'm enthusiastic about the players because we have to look at the next game," concluded Doll.

An additional one point when hosting Persita made Persija not move in the standings. The Kemayoran Tigers are currently stuck in ninth position with 28 points.
