Traffic Engineering In FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 Final

The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 final will be comfortable with a good traffic scenario (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 final will be held at the Manahan Stadium, Solo, on Saturday, December 2, 2023. The top party will bring together France U-17 against Germany U-17.

Ahead of the match, the Surakarta City Transportation Service (Dishub) or Solo has prepared various traffic scenarios.

The scheme concerns three aspects, namely traffic engineering management, motor vehicle parking bags, to shuttle bus operations provided for spectators to Manahan Stadium.

This is done to provide comfort for match spectators and the surrounding community or users of public roads who do not watch.

The Solo City Transportation Agency said it would continue to monitor congestion points that could potentially occur at the nearest traffic light from the Manahan Stadium.

"There are eight nearby traffic lights. We have a central control room that is monitored by CCTV. We can intervene in this traffic light for smooth traffic," said Head of Traffic Engineering of the Solo City Transportation Service (Dishub), Ari Wibowo.

"We also monitor the journey of athletes, referees, and FIFA officials from several hotels to Manahan Stadium. Thus, we need to prioritize smoothness and comfort."

"When they get closer, we will immediately greenen the traffic light so that they are not hampered," he said.

In addition, the Transportation Agency will deploy officers in a number of locations affected by congestion and road crossing points, especially those that are spectator concentration points in the Manahan Stadium area.

Apart from that, a number of parking bags have also been provided by the Solo City Transportation Agency around Manahan Stadium. Spectators are asked not to park their vehicles in locations where parking is prohibited.

This means that the Solo City Transportation Agency will sterilize parking vehicles on roads around the Manahan Stadium.

"We will install road closure barricades in accordance with the standards desired by FIFA. So, on the road that surrounds Manahan Stadium, it will be sterile from parking, namely Jalan KS Tubun, Jalan Adi Sutjipto, and Jalan Minister Supeno," said Head of UPT Dishub Parking Solo City, Haryono Nugroho.

If there is a violation that occurs, the Transportation Agency will always provide socialization to spectators regarding control.

As previously known, during the FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023, there were several spectator cars that were brought under control, both by bunching and by assistant.

"We do it according to FIFA standards. On the sterile roads, signs and socialization have been installed. If we are still reckless, we will use defamation and assistants," said Haryono.

Some of the parking bags provided near the Manahan Stadium area include SMA 4 Solo, SMK 2 Solo, Bhayangkara Hospital, and at Sebelas Maret University (UNS).

The parking locations that are quite far from Manahan Stadium are located in Sumber Field and Tirtonadi Terminal. From these two locations, the audience can maximize the shuttle bus facilities provided by the Transportation Agency.
