PSS Sleman Ends Victory Fast After Beating Barito Putera 2-1

SLEMAN- PSS Sleman ended their winning fast with a 2-1 win over Barito Putera in Week 20 of the Indonesian League 1 match at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Sunday, November 26. This result became PSS' first victory under the new coach Risto Vidakovic, who was recently appointed as a replacement for Bertrand Crasson.

Previously, PSS showed unsatisfactory performance by only winning five draws and swallowing five defeats in their last 10 matches. The victory over Barito Putera gave a positive boost for PSS Sleman, who is now ranked 13th in the Indonesian League 1 standings with 23 points from 20 matches.

The opening goal for PSS Sleman occurred in the 33rd minute through the header of Jihad Ayoub's head. This goal was produced after Jonathan Bustos' free kick was successfully continued by Ayoub. Although Barito Putera tried to find an equalizer throughout the first half, PSS Sleman managed to maintain a 1-0 lead until halftime.

In the second half, Barito Putera continued to put pressure on equalizing. Despite several chances created, a new goal occurred in the 70th minute after Hokky Caraka scored a second goal for PSS Sleman after receiving a pass from Abduh Lestaluhu.

Barito Putera did not give up and continued to look for opportunities. Their hard efforts paid off in the 84th minute when Eksel Rukahu scored, changing the score to 2-1. Even though Barito Putera tried to equalize, PSS Sleman managed to maintain the advantage until the long whistle sounded.

This victory gives PSS Sleman confidence, while Barito Putera must return to prepare for the next match. PSS will face PSIS Semarang in the 21st week of Liga 1 Indonesia. Meanwhile, Barito Putera will face Borneo FC. This victory is an important capital for PSS Sleman in their efforts to achieve a better position in this competition.
