Sapto Yogo Purnomo Donates First Gold For Indonesia At The 2023 Asian Para Games

JAKARTA - Athletes at athletics, Sapto Yogo Purnomo, managed to get a gold medal when he went down in the men's 400 meters T37. This is the first gold for the Indonesian contingent at the 2023 Asian Para Games.

Sapto became the fastest with a record time of 54.8 seconds at the HSC Stadium, Monday, October 23, noon. Sapto was able to beat Apisit Taprom from Thailand and Thamer Ahmed AlZAharani from Saudi Arabia.

Sapto Yogo is an athletic athlete from Purwokerto. He became one of Indonesia's mainstays because apart from competing in the 400-meter number, the 25-year-old athlete also often appeared in the 100-meter number.

Before winning the Asian Para Games gold, Sapto Yogo had already confirmed his qualify for the Paris 2024 Paralympics in the men's 100-meter T37 running number.

In addition to gaining first gold from athletic numbers on Monday, October 23, the Indonesian contingent also managed to collect medals from several other sports.

Currently, the Indonesian contingent has won seven medals consisting of one gold, two silver, and four bronze.

Two silvers are produced from the women's F20 bullet test number athletic sport on behalf of Suparni Yati and bicycle racing number B 3000 M Individual Pursuit on behalf of Sri Sugiyanti and Nimal Magfiroh.

While four bronze medals were presented by Nurfendi who took part in cycling number B 4000M Individual Pursuit, the sprint team of the cycling in the number Mixed C1-5 75 meters, Junaedi in the blind judo sport number men's J1-60 kg and Novita Larassati in the same sport in the women's J1-48 kg number.
