Spain Qualifies For Euro 2024, Gavi Admits His Goal Deserves To Be Disallowed

JAKARTA - Spain had to work hard before beating Norway 1-0 through Gavi's goal in the Euro 2024 qualifying Group A match. But Gavi admits the goal that qualified Spain for the final round in Germany should have been annulled.

Spain scored two goals in that game. All goals were reviewed through VAR. As a result, Alvaro Morata's first goal was disallowed because he was in an offside position.

Meanwhile, Gavi scored Gavi's second goal. Again, the goal was reviewed through VAR. Only this time Gavi's goal was still passed.

Spain also won 1-0. The score lasted until the end of the match. Spain also made sure to qualify for Germany despite leaving two more matches in Group A.

The goal clearly made Gavi happy. Moreover, the Barcelona player's goal brought Spain to the final round. Only, he admitted the goal should not have been approved because there was another Spanish player, Morata, in an offside position.

But he was not sure if his partner was offside or onside. "My goal started with Morata's effort in the penalty box. I don't know if he was offside or not," Gavi said.

"In the end we managed to score and I am happy with this victory," he said.

If Gavi's goal is also disallowed, then the match is likely to end in a draw and Spain is not certain to qualify for Euro 2024.

Likewise Scotland remains at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Norway still has hope to qualify.

Meanwhile, coach Luis de la Fuente said that Spain deserved to win and get tickets to the finals. According to him, the team has grown better and has become a complete team.

"We deserve it. This team has grown rapidly and is a team in the future. This is also a complete and more mature team," said De la Fuente.
