4 Indonesian Representatives Reach the Round of 16 of the 2023 Arctic Open

JAKARTA – The 2023 Arctic Open badminton tournament has entered the round of 16. In total there were four Indonesian representatives who managed to qualify there.

This number represents three sectors. In detail, the men's doubles event has two representatives, and the men's singles and mixed doubles each have one representative in the BWF Super 500 level event.

One of the men's doubles who qualified was the veteran pair Hendra Setiawan/Mohammad Ahsan. The fifth seed qualified after stopping the Danish pair, Andreas Sondergaard/Jesper Toft.

In the second round, the pair nicknamed The Daddies will face representatives of Chinese Taipei, Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan. In the four previous clashes, Hendra/Ahsan had a win-lose lead, 3-1.

Meanwhile, Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan got another men's doubles ticket. This pair stopped their colleagues at the national training camp (Pelatnas) Bagas Maulana/Muhammad Shohibul Fikri.

Pram/Yere will next meet a pair from China, Chen Bo Yang/Liu Yi. Both partners are blind to each other's strengths because they have never clashed before.

Then from the men's singles who qualified was Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. Dua defeated host representative Kalle Koljonen and will face Malaysia's representative and eighth seed, Lee Zii Jia.

Furthermore, adding to the number of Indonesian representatives in the second round of mixed doubles were Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja.

This pair defeated third seed France, Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue. To reach the quarter-finals, they were waiting for China's representatives, Cheng Xing/Chen Fang Hui.
