JAKARTA - The U-24 Indonesian national team will face Uzbekistan in the round of 16 of the 2023 Asian Games. Victory is a fixed price for tickets to qualify for the quarter-finals.

The two teams will play at the Shangcheng Sports Center Stadium, Hangzhou, Thursday, September 28, at 15.30 WIB.

Indra Sjafri's squad pocketed a ticket to the round of 16 after successfully qualifying with the best third-placed status. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan, which is the opponent, has a more classy status, namely the winner of Group C.

Indra Sjafri had to mobilize the full strength in his team to provide maximum performance. Fortunately, additional strength came for the U-24 national team ahead of the round of 16. Ramadhan Sananta came to increase the attack power of the Red and White troops.

Initially, the U-24 national team planned to present two additional players, namely Sananta and Beckham Putra. However, the names of the two players had to cancel their return to China because they had not fully recovered from a calf injury.

"In my opinion, the arrival of Sananta is very helpful, because yesterday we lost the striker figure, I and other colleagues will certainly support him", said Indra.

Even though only Sananta joined, his presence also had a very important meaning for the team. Indra Sjafri now only needs to set patterns and tactics to pair Sananta with his team-mates for an impressive performance.

"We have checked all the players are ready, and we have prepared a game plan from the report from the team of analysts on the quality of players from Uzbekistan", said Indra, quoted on PSSI's official website.

In addition to having to apply careful tactics, the U-24 national team must also appear with high vigilance. The reason is, if you look at the records in the 2023 Asian Games, Uzbekistan performed very well during the group phase.

Uzbekistan U-24 managed to come out as winners of Group C after beating Hong Kong U-24 in two meetings with a score of 1-0 and 2-1. Seeing the achievement of the opposing team, the U-24 national team squad must play together and be extra vigilant.
