Waiting for Additional Gold for Indonesia from Wushu and Shooting

JAKARTA - The struggle of Indonesian athletes at the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games begins again today, Wednesday, September 27. Today, the Red and White contingent has the opportunity to add a gold medal.

Opportunities to add to the 2023 Asian Games medal tally through a number of sports events such as wushu taolu, shooting, skateboarding and chess.

2019 men's duilian world champion Seraf Naro Siregar will be Indonesia's focus in the taolu combination daoshu+gunshu event which will take place at the Xiaoshan Guali Sports Center, as reported by Antara.

Meanwhile, Nandhira Mauriskha, who was the flagbearer of the Indonesian contingent at the opening ceremony of the Hangzhou Asian Games, will appear in the jianshu+qianshu combination number.

The Vietnam SEA Games changquan and jianshu runners-up and Seraf will try to follow in the footsteps of their colleagues who first donated medals to Indonesia, namely Edgar Xavier Marvelo with silver in the changquan number, and Harris Horatius who won the gold medal in the nanquan+nangun combination number.

In the shooting arena, Vidya Rafika Rahmatan Toyyiba, who represents Indonesia at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, will compete with Monica Daryanti and Audrey Zahra Dhiyaanisa in the women's air rifle 3 position individual and team events.

The shooting team has presented two gold medals for Indonesia, all of which were won by Muhammad Sejahtera Dwi Putra in the men's 10-meter running target on Monday (25/9) and the men's 10-meter running target mixed run on Tuesday, September 26.

Then at the Qiantang Roller Sports Center, two skateboarders, Basral Graito Hutomo and Sanggoe Darma Tanjung, qualified for the final in the men's street event.

In the preliminaries, Tuesday, Sanggoe finished with the fourth best points (68.11) which he got in the second heat, behind Japanese representative Ginu Onodera (80.47), Jihoon Jeong from South Korea (74.49), and Jie Zhang from China (68.11) controls the top three.

Meanwhile, Basral was in eighth place with quite low points of 48.88, the best points he achieved in the first heat. Onodera is a tough opponent for the two Indonesian skaters.

The Japanese representative, who is only 13 years old, recently won the 2023 X Games Asia in his hometown, Chiba. He is also in third place at the 2022 world championships in Sharjah, UAE.

Basral will also face Filipino representative Renzo Mark, whom he beat to win gold at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines.

In the aquatic arena, four Indonesian swimmers will see the results of their hard work during training when they compete in a number of short distance events.

Joe Aditya Wijaya Kurniawan took part in the men's 100 butterfly, then the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games champion Masniari Wolf took part in his second event in Hangzhou, namely the women's 100m backstroke with Angel Gabriella Yus.

Nicholas Karel Subagyo is Indonesia's representative in the men's 200m freestyle.

Indonesian chess athletes also have the opportunity to reach the final when Novendra Priasmoro/Azarya Jodi Setyaki, both of whom won bronze at the 2021 SEA Games, racked their brains in the men's individual event. Then there are also Grand Master Media Warda Aulia and Irene Kharisma Sukandar in the women's number.
