JAKARTA Juventus star Paul Pogba has been banned from playing football for a while after the midfielder reportedly failed a doping test.
Italy's national anti-doping court (NADO) confirmed Pogba's levels of testosterone were very high after he tested after Juventus won 3-0 over Udinese in the first Italian Serie A match this season on August 20.
The player himself has not commented on this. However, if tested positive using doping, Pogba has the potential to face a serious sentence of four years not being allowed to play football.
"Juventus announced that today, September 11, 2023, footballer Paul Labile Pogba received a suspension order from the National Anti-Doping Court following the results of tests conducted on August 20, 2023," reads a Juventus statement, reported by BBC Sport.
Testosteron is a hormone that increases the endurance of the athletes. Pogba gave NADO three days to provide a counter analysis of the test results.
Rafaela Pimenta as an agent of Pogba said that their party is currently analyzing the case in question. Therefore, he refused to talk much.
"We are waiting for the results of the analysis and we cannot say anything now," he was quoted as saying by The Sun.

However, Pogba began to be haunted by the continuous injury problem after he returned to Turin. The problem ruled him out at last year's World Cup in Qatar.
Pogba has played a total of 51 minutes as a substitute for this season. He recorded the flying clock as the Old Lady faced Bologna and Empoli.
Last season, Pogba recorded 108 minutes in six Serie A games, three short appearances and one assist in the Europa League, and 11 minutes in the Coppa Italia. In total he played for 162 minutes without scoring a goal.
Pogba's injury problem resurfaced recently. Juventus coach Massimo Allegri confirmed the player had a minor problem on his back after appearing against Empoli.
