Indonesian women's doubles Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto successfully advanced to the 2023 BNI Indonesia Masters final round after defeating India's representative, Tanisha Crasto/Ashwini Ponnappa in the semifinals with a score of 20-22, 21-16, 21-13.

In the match which was held at GOR PBSI Jalan Pancing, Medan, North Sumatra, Saturday, September 9, the world number 30 pair admitted that they lost focus in the first game when they were able to win the advantage so they had to be left behind with a score of 20-22.

Luckily in the second game, Lanny/Ribka were able to return the momentum after being left behind in the first game by appearing even more enthusiastic until finally equalizing.

The 2022 Indonesia International Challenge champion was even able to maintain good momentum in the third game to finally win within 56 minutes of the Indian pair ranked 58 in the world.

"We are grateful that in this match we were given a victory even though we were left behind in the first game. We could actually end the first game with a win, unfortunately at the end of the match we were careless so we had to be left behind in the first game," said Lanny.

"We played in a hurry when we were ahead in the first game. Basically we already knew what kind of style we would play. Luckily in the second game we were able to gain momentum to finally catch up and force the gamerubber," said Ribka.

While appearing in the BWF Tour Super 100 tournament, the couple who debuted at the 2021 SEA Games admitted that they were motivated by the presence of supporters who packed the Pancing Sports Hall.

The roar of supporters throughout the match to provide support made Lanny Tria Mayasari/Ribka Sugiarto motivated to show their best game.

"In this tournament we are motivated considering getting the title of first seed. This made us play even more enthusiastic and plus the public support of Medan City burned our spirits on the field," added Lanny.

With this result, Lanny/Ribka in the final will face Taiwanese representative Chang Ching Hui/Yang Ching Tun.

Chang Ching Hui/Yang Ching Tun itself advanced to the final after overcoming compatriots of the country, Sung Yu-Hsuan/Wang Szu-Min with a score of 21-14, 21-18.

"Facing the final, we want to focus and want to enjoy the match. As much as possible we have to play more prepared from the start of the match considering that the final match is definitely not easy," said Ribka.
