Josko Gvardiol Is Not Manchester City's Last Hunt, Japanese Player Idaman Pep Guardiola Is The Next Target

JAKARTA - The Manchester City mission in this summer's transfer market is not over yet. Josko Gvardiol is believed not the last name the club will buy nicknamed The Citizens.

City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly interested in signing a Japanese player, wary Mitoma. His performance last season with Brighton and Hove Albion amazed Guardiola.

Mitoma has two years left on his contract with Brighton. The English Premier League club wants to extend its duration.

However, Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in wooing the 26-year-old. Now, City is on the hunt.

Guardiola wants to bring in a new winger after Riyad Mahrez's move to Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli. The Spaniard is also a fan of Mitoma, who can play on both wings.

He once praised the performance of the Japanese national team player.

"Well, I would say the impact of [Kaoru] Mitoma in the English Premier League is extraordinary," he told reporters, as reported by The Sun.

"He was in the right place with the right manager and his final season was incredible. And see what Japan has done at the World Cup in a tough group."

Mitoma has been identified as a candidate to replace Mahrez. However, Brighton could not allow their flagship player to leave easily.

Mitoma's purchase fee could reach 50 million. The actual value will not be difficult for City to meet.
