Taiwan Open 2023 Results: Three Indonesian Mixed Doubles Win, Tommy And Ana/Tiwi Also Join The Round Of 16

JAKARTA - Three Indonesian mixed doubles managed to secure tickets to the round of 16 of the Taiwan Open 2023. This success made them follow the success of other Indonesian representatives.

The three mixed doubles are Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, and Jafar Hidayatullah/Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata.

Appearing at the Tian-mu Arena on Wednesday, June 21 at noon WIB, Rinov/Pitha faced Kenneth Zee/Gronya Somerville who was Australian representatives. The first seed did not encounter any significant difficulties in stealing tickets from opponents.

It only took Rinov/Pitha 29 minutes to win two straight games with a score of 21-16 and 21-14.

Meanwhile, Rehan/Lisa qualified after eliminating representatives of Malaysia, Vinson Chiu/Jennie Gai. The second seed won two straight games 21-16 and 21-12.

Meanwhile, Jafar/Aisyah eliminated the host's representative, Ming Che Lu/Chung Kan-Yu. They won 21-10 and 21-18.

Previously in the women's doubles sector, there was Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi who first qualified for the round of 16. The first-ranked seed won over host Yan Fei Chen/Liang Ching Sun in 36 minutes with a score of 21-18 and 21-15.

Tommy Sugiarto also pocketed success, which fell in the men's singles number. In this Super 300 tournament, Tommy was also able to beat the hosts, Chen ChinTing.

Unlike the two representatives above, Tommy's struggle to enter the round of 16 was not immediately easy. He had to go through a rubber game for 66 minutes to ensure the comeback victory with a score of 18-21, 21-12 and 21-17.
