There Is A Role For Javier Zanetti Behind Argentina's Arrival To Indonesia

JAKARTA - Inter Milan legend Javier Zanetti has an important role in PSSI's efforts to bring in the Argentine national team for FIFA Matchday against Indonesia in the middle of next month.

This was conveyed by PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir in a press conference appointing Indonesia to host the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup and FIFA Matchday at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Wednesday, May 24, 2023 afternoon WIB.

Erick used his connection with the Argentine National Team's Oltre Consulting Account Maria status Russo. In addition, he also took advantage of his good relationship with Zanetti when he was president of Inter Milan.

According to a number of reports, PSSI may have to spend 70 billion rupiah to be able to bring in Lionel Messi and his friends. However, the details of the costs have not yet been explained by PSSI.

Erick said that bringing in a strong team like Argentina aims to measure the ability and prepare Garuda Troops to face several events in the future.

"Many championships this year, one of which is according to the President's commitment, we will form a core for national team development based on young players to see the World Cup qualifiers in the future," he said.

The Argentine national team has yet to confirm whether to bring their star Messi or not. The owner or not of the seven Ballon d'Ors was handed over by PSSI to AFA.
