It's Been 37 Years, This Former Arsenal And Man City Player Is Still Able To Build Fans With Fantastic Actions

JAKARTA - Former Arsenal and Manchester City player Gael Clinicy did not lose his touch even though he was no longer young. He did an action that made fans stunned.

Clinchy scored a sensational goal from the halfway line as his team, Servette, won 5-0 over Sion, in the Belgian League competition, last weekend.

The 37-year-old stole the ball from the opponent's feet before doing a lob into the net from the middle of the field. The goalkeeper, who had already come out of the net, was unable to do much to prevent his goal from conceding.

After the match, Clichy revealed, he only decided to shoot remotely. As it turned out, there was a role from a fan behind the action.

He admitted to making the decision after being sent a message on social media from a fan who told him that the Sion goalkeeper, Alexandros Safarikas, was always out of his way.

Apart from his fantastic goal, fans were also surprised because the former England full-back had not yet retired.

"Clichy still playing???" said one fan via social media.

"It's been a long time since I've heard his name," said another.

Clichy has been an important part of the Servette squad this season. He played 27 times for the club who currently sit second in the Swiss Super League.

After leaving Manchester in 2017, Clinicy spent three years at Turkish club Istanbul Baskesehir. He then tried his luck at Swoss.

Clichy may have surprised many people because he was still playing at a high level. He also has a desire to become a manager in England.

He said he was inspired by his old boss Arsene Wenger and Pep Guardiola.
