Provisional Standings For 2023 SEA Games Medals: 11 Gold Hasn't Been Able To Boost Indonesia's Position

JAKARTA - The Indonesian contingent was only able to move up one strip to fourth place in the standings for medals at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia, Wednesday, May 10. Even though on that day, the Red and White team won 11 gold medals.

Pencak silat's sport contributed greatly to today's medal. Iqbal Candra Pratama and his friends managed to buy seven gold, six silver, and one bronze.

Gold medals are also presented for athletics through the far jump and men's relay 4x100 meters. Not only that, additional gold was also obtained from women's cricket and soft women's singles tennis.

While Indonesia managed to add 11 gold, the Philippines only won one gold on Wednesday, which put him in sixth position.

The surprise actually came from Singapore. With the seven gold medals obtained on Wednesday, the Lion Country team was able to overtake the Philippines to cover the top five.

Tight competition to win the top of the medal standings on the fifth day of the 2023 SEA Games, Wednesday, was won by Vietnam which added 11 gold. Uncle Ho's country team, which on the previous day was in second place, is now at the top.

Instead, Thailand, which on Tuesday, May 9, was at the top of the standings, had to drop to third after Cambodia equaled the total number of gold medals obtained by the White Elephant Country contingent.

Cambodia collected a total of 139 medals as of Wednesday night, a difference of three medals from Thailand, leaving the hosts in second place in the standings.
