The Women's Doubles Pair Apri/Fadia Don't Want To Be In The BAC

JAKARTA - women's doubles pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti do not want to set grandiose targets in the 2023 Badminton Asia Championships.

The event will take place at Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall, Al Nasr Club, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on April 25-30. Apri/Fadia will start their journey against Thai pair Benyapa Aimsaard/Nuntakarn Aimsaard.

"We don't want to be grandiose, we just want to show our best in every match," said Apri.

"In the first half we met the Aimsaard brothers. So we have to prepare ourselves as well as possible. It must be from the start, both in terms of thought, strategy, and focus," he added.

Apri/Fadia had previously been disturbed by an injury earlier this year. However, both are currently in good health 100 percent and give the best for Indonesia.

Apri/Fadia have undergone two exercises with their colleagues upon arrival in Dubai. They will still undergo one more training this evening local time before tomorrow's fight.

"Indeed, we still have problems with the field carpet which is a bit slippery. But we don't just feel it, everything is the same. Later in the afternoon there will still be one practice, we want to try again, hopefully it will be better," said Fadia.

Apart from Apri/Fadia, the Indonesian women's doubles sector will be strengthened by three other couples, namely Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi, Ribka Sugiarto/Lanny Tria Mayasari, and Rachel Alllessya Rose/Meilysa Trias Puspitasari.

Prasetyo coach Restu Basuki said the other three couples were also ready to play. They have no problem whatsoever.

"The women's doubles children are ready to compete in the 2023 BAC. They have already practiced here twice, yesterday at the main hall and this afternoon at the practice court and everything went smoothly," said Prasetyo.

"For each couple, we do have our own targets. But in general we want them to be able to upgrade to an even higher level," added Prasetyo.

Prasetyo revealed that the strategic factors in the field and fighting power were evaluated by his foster children after yesterday's European tour. So in this tournament, these things will try to be improved.

"After yesterday's European tour, there was indeed an evaluation of the strategy in the field. So we increased the portion of additions there by analyzing a lot through match videos. Later this afternoon there will be the last exercise in the main hall, we will finish it even more," explained Prasetyo.
