Manchester City Failed To Overthrow Arsenal From The Top Of Premier League Standings

JAKARTA - Manchester City failed to displace Arsenal from the top of the 2022/2023 English Premier League standings. The Citizens failed to get full points when they visited Nottingham Forest headquarters, Saturday, February 18th.

Manchester City had to settle for a 1-1 draw in the match which took place at the City Ground, Nottingham. In fact, the visitors won first.

In the 41st minute, Bernando Silva broke into Nottingham's goal after taking advantage of a ball from Jack Grealish. However, the hosts managed to equalize in the 84th minute through the action of Chris Wood who received Morgan Gibbs-White's pass.

This result left Pep Guardiola's troops stuck in second place. The Citizens are now collecting 52 points, two points adrift of Arsenal who is now at the top of the English Premier League standings. In addition, Arsenal is also one game ahead of City.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's crazy spending spree still hasn't yielded positive results. This time, Chelsea lost when they hosted Southampton at Stamford Bridge.

The goal for the visitors was scored by Ward-Prowse in the 45+1 minute. That was enough to make the Blues fail to win in their last four matches in the English Premier League.
