JAKARTA - Manchester United is on sale. The bidding deadline is two days away.

Reportedly, the Glazers will close the bidding doors on Friday, February 17th. A number of names also stuck out as enthusiasts.

One name that has recently emerged is the boss of Tesla and Twitter, Elon Musk. He is said to be serious about buying the English football club with an offer worth 4.5 billion pounds, or approximately IDR 83 trillion.

"According to sources, it is believed that the tech billionaire is monitoring the situation closely, and seeing if there is an opportunity at Old Trafford that he cannot afford to miss," according to the Daily Mail report, quoted by Antara, on Wednesday, February 15.

The news also emerged after a report said that Musk was looking for opportunities and opportunities to buy The Red Devil in the last days before the closing of the offer period.

Apart from Musk, so far only one potential buyer has publicly voiced his desire to take over MU. Billionaire who also owns chemical company INEOS, Jim Ratcliffe, announced his intention to make an offer to MU last month.

One of the richest people in England is indeed a big fan of the club. He announced he wanted to buy MU since mid-January.

Apart from these two billionaires, the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, is also said to be interested in buying Manchester United.

According to the Associated Press report, there are also other confirmed candidates, but they have chosen to remain silent and will likely change their minds or provide further details after next Friday.

As for Manchester United, since 2015 it has been owned by the Glazer Family, a wealthy family from the United States. This family has been under pressure from MU fans for years as the club's fortunes have declined since they took over.

The cost of renovating or rebuilding the Old Trafford stadium is considered one of the main reasons why the Glazers are willing to sell the club.

That's considering they could spend over 1 billion dollars to do the renovation or rebuild the iconic stadium.
