Proud! The Indonesian Swimming Team Wins 4 Gold Medals in Malaysia

PUTRA JAYA – The Indonesian Open Water Swimming Team successfully won four gold medals at the 1st SEA Open Water Swimming Championship which took place from February 2 to 4 yesterday in Putra Jaya, Malaysia.

The four gold medal winners are Fadlan Prawira, Adinda Larasati Dewi, Izzy Dwifaiva Hefrisyanthi, and the mixed relay team.

The first gold for the Red and White team was presented by Aflah Fadlan Prawira in the men's 5 kilometer number. Fadlan finished first with a time of 55 minutes 21.4 seconds beating Thai swimmer Nattapon Intaratchaiku (56.21.4 seconds) in second place.

"Fadlan achieved quite well. Apart from Fadlan there are also several other swimmers who achieved well in the young age category. They are being prepared for the 2025 SEA Games," said Indonesian Chef de Mission (CdM), Liza Januar, in a press statement received.

Then the female swimmer Adinda Larasati Dewi won a gold medal in the women's 5 kilometer number. He succeeded in occupying the highest podium after finishing with a record of 1 hour 1 minute 13.7 seconds.

In this number, Indonesia also got bronze through Kathriana Mella Gustianjani with a record of 1 hour 05.21.6 seconds. Meanwhile, the second place was Singaporean swimmer Candice Ruo Han Ang with a time of 1 hour 05.02.0 seconds.

The third gold for Indonesia was obtained from the 5 kilometer number in the 18-19 year age group. In this number, Izzy Dwifaiva came out the best with a record of 1 hour 02.11.8 seconds.

She beat her opponents, including compatriot Aisha Jenar Laksitadevi who finished third on the podium.

The fourth gold medal was donated by the Indonesian team in the mixed relay with a record of 1 hour 13 minutes 00.8 seconds. The Indonesian team consists of Mochamad Dimas Permana Taufik, Adinda Larasati Dewi, Izzy Dwifaiva Hefrisyanthi, and Aflah Fadlan Prawira.

Previously on the second day, Virgin Silvia Natan won a bronze medal in the women's 10 kilometer number with a record of 2 hours 17.17.4 seconds.

In this event, the Indonesian team was led by Chief de Mission Liza Januar and consisted of 12 athletes, 5 coaches and 2 officials in Malaysia.

The athletes who took part were Fadlan Prawira, Timotius Mulyadi, Dimas Rashya Hakim, Mochamad Dimas Permana Taufik, Richie Augusta Wibowo, Naurah Chalisa Adeputri, Virgin Silvia Natan, Adinda Larasati Dewi, Kathriana Mella Fustianjani, Izzy Dwifaiva Hefrisyanti, Aisha Jenar Laksitadevi, and Dea Salsabila Putri.
