Today! One Important Step To Restart League 1 Competition

JAKARTA - The 2022/2023 League 1 competition is currently still suspended. This is the impact of the Kanjuruhan Malang Tragedy which claimed many lives last October 1.

Currently, all national football stakeholders are trying to make this prestigious competition in Indonesia roll again. A number of steps have been taken to get the league back on track.

On Monday, November 28, the Ministry of Youth and Sports held a coordination meeting to discuss organizing the Indonesian League competition. This coordination meeting was chaired directly by Menpora Zainudin Amali.

This coordination meeting was attended by a number of interested parties. Starting from PSSI, PT Liga Indonesia, clubs, Police, and a number of related ministries.

As a result, all agreed that the competition could roll again.

"Players can't just practice long-term and practice matches. Players need competition. For that we want the League 1 competition to start soon," said the Menpora, on the PSSI's official website, Monday, November 28.

Menpora said, only one more step was needed so that PT LIB could roll back the wheels of competition. Now just waiting for the results of the coordination meeting held by the police.

This coordination meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 29. The National Police will invite PSSI and PT LIB as competition operators.

"There is still one more stage, the National Police will invite PSSI and PT LIB to formulate the final form. From there the Police will decide whether the competition may continue or not, the Police need one more meeting to discuss security," concluded Menpora Amali.
