Together with his family and close relatives at his residence, Antony looked worried when Tite, the coach of the Brazilian national team, mentioned the names of the players who were called up. As soon as Tite's name was mentioned, the former Ajax Amsterdam player immediately jumped for joy with his family and friends.

Not long ago, the 22-year-old was seen crying while in the arms of one of his relatives. The player who had just signed for MU at the beginning of this season was so moved to be selected to strengthen the Selecao in the 2022 World Cup.

Even though he has been selected for the Brazilian national team, Antony will not automatically become a core player. He had to compete with other names called Tite.

Sources say that referring to the position he occupies as a right-wing striker, Antony will compete with two players who play in the Spanish League, namely Raphinha from Barcelona and Rodrygo from Real Madrid.

Raphinha is Barcelona's mainstay player in the wing sector with Ousmane Dembele. Meanwhile, Rodrygo is a player who can be placed in all front-line positions, including as a right winger.

However, this should not discourage Antony. Because he himself showed a flashy performance at MU after being brought in from Ajax.
