Barcelona Makes Mikel Arteta A Candidate For Future Coach

JAKARTA - Barcelona is said to have started targeting Mikel Arteta as a strong candidate for their future coach to replace Xavi Hernandez. However, Barcelona will not do it in the near future.

Arteta officially became Arsenal's head coach in 2019. After guiding the London club to the FA Cup title last year, the Spaniard was given the position of manager to represent his broader duties at the club.

The trust was immediately paid for by the 40-year-old man. He successfully led the Gunners to top the English Premier League after 12 matches.

Spanish media outlet Sport reports that Arteta's scintillating performance has attracted interest from Barcelona. The Catalan club saw him as a 'strong candidate' as their future coach.

However, the Spanish La Liga giants will not approach Arteta to replace the current coach, Xavi. Blaugrana reportedly only 'marked' Arteta as 'the strongest candidate in the future'.

When will Arteta be hijacked? Nothing is certain. However, Barcelona is believed to have no difficulty in luring him back to Camp Nou.

Arteta has a close relationship with the Catalan team. The reason, he had spent three years at the La Masia academy and had played for the Barcelona C and Barcelona B teams.
