PSSI Chairman Said About The Appointment Of President Director Of PT LIB As A Suspect In Malang Kanjuruhan Tragedy Case

JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has announced six suspects in the deadly tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium in Malang, which killed 131 people, last October 1. One of them is the President Director of PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB), Akhmad Hadian Lukita.

PSSI General Chair Mochamad Iriawan also spoke about the determination of this suspect. PSSI respects the decision of the National Police which has named the President Director of PT LIB as a suspect.

"I've heard about it and PSSI respects the determination of the suspect that was just read out by the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo," said Iriawan on the PSSI official website.

As is known, the determination of the suspects was carried out based on the findings of evidence and instructions as well as the statements of witnesses.

It is said that the president director of PT LIB did not re-verify Kanjuruhan Stadium and instead used data or results from two years ago.

"Responsible for ensuring that every stadium has a proper verification of function. However, at the time the LIB stadium was appointed, its functional requirements were not fulfilled and the 2020 verification results were used," said the National Police Chief to reporters in Malang, East Java, Thursday, October 6.

Apart from Akhmad Hadian Lukita, five other people have also been named as suspects. They are the Head of the Arema FC Executive Committee, Abdul Haris, and the Head of the Malang Police Ops, Kompol Wahyu Setyo Pranoto.

Then the Head of Samapta Police of Malang AKP Bambang Sidik Achmadi, Commander of the Brimob Company of the East Java Police AKP Hasdarman, and Security Officer of Arema FC Suko Sutrisno.

The suspects were charged with multi-layered articles, namely Article 359 and Article 360 ​​of the Criminal Code related to errors that caused death. In addition, they are also subject to Article 103 and Article 52 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 11 of 2022 concerning Sports.

"Based on the case title and sufficient preliminary evidence, 6 suspects are currently set," said General Sigit.
