Supporting Cristiano Ronaldo, Rivaldo: He Will Get A Chance To Prove Himself

JAKARTA - Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably at a low point in his career. The Portuguese player is no longer a mainstay of his club.

Ronaldo has mostly sat on the bench with Manchester United this season. He only appeared once as a starter.

It correlates with the goals scored by him. Ronaldo only scored one goal, and even then from the white point.

Many think Ronaldo has run out. However, not a few also provide support to the player to return to his best performance.

Support also came from Brazilian football legend, Rivaldo. He believes, Ronaldo is a professional player who will show he is still capable of being a mainstay.

"He's a player I really admire. He's a great professional," Rivaldo said as quoted by Antara.

"Ronaldo can hold himself well and at the right time, he will get a chance to start and show he is still capable," continued the former Barcelona player.

The current condition makes Ronaldo reportedly more determined to move. A number of clubs are already eyeing the 37-year-old, including Sporting Lisbon and Chelsea.

Rivaldo understands Ronaldo's situation. However, he asked the former Real Madrid and Juventus player to restrain himself.

"It's difficult for someone who usually plays all the time to sit on the bench, especially knowing he can still make a difference on the pitch, regardless of his age," said Rivaldo.

"He must remain calm for a while and believe that good things await him," concluded Rivaldo.
