PBSI Chairman Denies Hot Atmosphere At National Training Center: Just Ordinary Dynamics

JAKARTA - Chairman of PBSI, Agung Firman Sampurna, spoke about the dispute between Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and his coach, Herry Iman Pierngadi.

He said, there is no hot situation in the national training. According to him, what is happening now is just an ordinary dynamic.

"There is nothing hot, just normal dynamics," Agung told Antara in Jakarta.

"But in principle, PBSI seeks to build a conducive training atmosphere, which applies strict discipline within the framework of togetherness and with a family spirit," he continued.

Recently, it has been widely reported that the relationship between Kevin and Herry IP is getting hotter. In fact, Kevin is known to have not trained under Herry IP's direction since appearing in the Japan Open 2022 in early September.

Kevin continues to train at the Cipayung National Training Center, but separates from the main men's doubles squad, which is managed by the coach nicknamed the Fire Dragon.

Herry IP said he was not too concerned about the issue and chose to focus on other men's doubles athletes. He admitted that he was disappointed with this condition, but did not want to dissolve in it.

"I also have to think about something else. There are still Fajar Alfian/M Rian Ardianto and there are still young people," said Herry IP.

"I don't want to think too much about it. There are still a lot of children who need me in the national training. I think about them. The bottom line is that there's no problem with me," he concluded.
