JAKARTA - Christian Eriksen has been invited to leave Inter Milan and join another club in the January transfer window, said club executive director Beppe Marotta.
The Danish national team (national) midfielder arrived in Milan in January last year, touted as a player who could give creativity to help Inter in their fight for the Serie A title.
However, his form is still far below expectations and there is speculation that coach Antonio Conte is ready to let go of the midfielder.
This has now been confirmed by Marotta, who said the Nerazzurri are ready to listen to other club offers for the former Tottenham man.
"Yesterday, Conte replied in a very comprehensive way," Marotta told DAZN quoted by Antara from Goal on Monday.
"I clearly added that we will not detain footballers if they ask to leave. We have to make a proper evaluation."

Marotta claimed that Eriksen wasn't causing any problems, nor did he ask to leave, but suggested the best solution would be to split up.
Eriksen has been unable to make a significant impact in Serie A this season, and is a frequent substitute under Conte.
He was back on the bench on Sunday, and was left out as Inter came from two goals down to beat Torino 4-2.
Inter are currently in fifth position in Serie A, with 15 points from eight matches and five points adrift of city rivals AC Milan who top the standings.
