The Indonesian One Group National Team With Thailand In The 2022 AFF Cup, Shin Tae-yong Hopes For The Presence Of Jordi Amat, Sandy Walsh And Shayne Pattiname

JAKARTA - The results of the 2022 AFF Cup draw have been released, Tuesday, August 30. The Indonesian national team is in Group A with Thailand.

Besides Thailand, the Garuda Squad also joined the Philippines, Cambodia, and the winners of the 2022 AFF Cup qualifiers, namely between Brunei Darussalam and Timor Leste.

The Indonesian national team coach, Shin Tae-yong admitted, that Thailand is the toughest opponent in this group. Moreover, the White Elephant Country is the defending champion of the AFF Cup.

"Thailand is certainly the strongest opponent in the group. Even so, we also remain vigilant against all our opponents", Shin said after learning the results of the draw, as quoted on PSSI's official website.

Shin said he would choose the best players who were mentally, mentally, physically, and physically ready. The man from South Korea then hopes that the naturalization process for Jordi Amat, Sandy Walsh, and Shayne Pattiname can be completed soon.

"We hope that the three can join the Indonesian national team soon", said the former South Korean national team coach.

The 2022 AFF Cup is planned to start on December 20, 2022, until January 23, 2023. In the previous 2020 Cup edition, Indonesia won runners-up.

PSSI chairman Mochamad Iriawan hopes that the Indonesian national team can avenge the defeat in the 2020 AFF final. However, he asked the players not to underestimate the strength of other teams.

"The strength of all countries in Southeast Asia is currently almost experiencing developments", he said.
