Takumi Minamino Officially Leaves Liverpool And Joins AS Monaco: I Can't Wait To Find A New Environment

JAKARTA - The Japanese player, Takumi Minamino, has officially joined AS Monaco. He was brought from the English Premier League giant club, Liverpool.

Takumi Minamino was bought from Liverpool for a transfer fee of 15.4 million pounds, or around IDR 278 billion, according to Sky Sports.

"I am very happy to be part of this very exciting project, at a club with a great tradition and one of the most recognized in Ligue 1," Minamino said after officially joining Monaco.

"I'm looking forward to finding my new environment and doing everything I can to help the team."

AS Monaco sporting director Paul Mitchell said he was very pleased to be able to sign Minamino and welcome the Japanese player to his club. Mitchell explained Minamino is a player they have known since he first arrived in Europe.

The 27-year-old player is considered to have gained experience at the highest level, especially in European competition and won several titles.

"With his winning culture, his ability to play in various positions on the pitch, and his status as a key player with his national team, we are sure Takumi will contribute to the development of our youth team and help the group to achieve our goals. We are delighted that he has decided to be a part of the project. us and welcome it," explains Mitchell.

Takumi Minamino was signed by Liverpool from RB Salzburg in January 2020. He actually still has a contract at Anfield until June 2024. However, they chose to leave because they didn't get the chance to play.

During his time with Liverpool, the 27-year-old player recorded 53 appearances and contributed 14 goals and three assists from various competitions with a total of 2.131 minutes played.

Last season, Minamino appeared in 24 Liverpool matches in various competitions and successfully contributed 10 goals and one assist from 1.008 minutes played.
