Indonesia Masters 2022: Defeat Senior, Anthony Ginting Steps Into Round Of 16

JAKARTA - Men's singles Badminton Association of Indonesia (PBSI), Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, stepped into the last 16 of the Indonesia Open 2022. Ginting won the ticket by eliminating his senior, Tommy Sugiarto, Tuesday, June 14.

This result makes Ginting's meeting record with Tommy to be balanced 3-3.

Ginting's dominance has been seen since the beginning of the first game. He did not allow Tommy Sugiarto to excel in points.

However, Tommy is not easy to beat. Although always behind, the distance is not that far, at most four points. Unfortunately, he still couldn't keep up with his junior game and lost 17-21 in the first game.

In the second game, Ginting started brilliantly. He managed to lead very far from Tommy 12-4. However, this distant advantage caught him off guard.

Tommy managed to take advantage of the situation to catch up to a position of 12-15. Tommy continued to close the gap with Ginting until the score was as strong as 18-18.

Ginting's game is getting worse, while Tommy is getting more and more confident. In fact, Tommy managed to turn ahead 19-18.

At the critical point, Ginting's mentality improved. After standing at 20-20, Indonesia's number one single closed the match with a score of 22-20 thanks to Tommy's wide stroke.
