Francesco Bagnaia Surprised By Takaaki Nakagami's Dangerous Maneuver At The Catalunya Circuit: If He Comes Back I'll Ask Him About This

JAKARTA - Lenovo's Ducati racer, Francesco Bagnaia, failed to finish in the Barcelona MotoGP race at the Catalunya Circuit, Sunday, June 5. He was involved in an incident with Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Honda) at the first corner after the start.

The rear tire of Bagnaia's motorbike nudged Nakagami's head which had a slip on the front tire. At that time, Nakagami was judged to have carried out a dangerous maneuver in braking.

Besides Bagnaia, Alex Rins was also a victim of the Japanese racer's aggressiveness. However, Bagnaia was not angry about this incident.

"I'm not angry, just disappointed. First of all I'm relieved Taka is okay, because the accident was really serious," Bagnaia said, as quoted by Autosport

"But from a professional rider like him, you can't expect an accident during the first braking at the first corner when he is in 12th position. He tries to overtake 10 riders in his first braking."

"He crossed the lane of a lot of riders, and if I wasn't there, he would of course be in the gravel and the race would be finished. So I can't understand what he expects to do braking like that," he continued.

Bagnaia admitted that he would directly ask Nakagami regarding this when he met the LCR Honda rider.

"But maybe when he comes back I hope he comes back soon, I will ask him about this. We always talk about security," he said.
