Egy Maulana Absent, Indonesian National Team Still Optimistic To Beat Bangladesh In FIFA Matchday

JAKARTA - Indonesia versus Bangladesh on FIFA Matchday will take place at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung, Wednesday, June 1. The match will start (kick-off) at 20.30 western Indonesia time. In this match, the Garuda squad was confident and able to beat Bangladesh.

Head coach Shin Tae-Yong summoned 29 players for this match. All players are fit and ready to play.

"Currently the condition of the players is very good. During training, the players are always enthusiastic and work hard. We will give the best resistance and win of course," said the South Korean coach, on the PSSI website.

The names that were called previously underwent training in Jakarta on 26 May. They then continued their training and finalized preparations for Bandung.

Most of the players who entered the squad on this occasion were players who previously defended Indonesia at the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi. Apart from that, some old names were called, such as Stefano Lilipaly.

Although all the players have joined in Bandung, some players are still injured. One of them is Egy Maulana Vikri, who is confirmed to be absent from this trial match.

"Even so, Egy Maulana will miss tomorrow's match because he is still injured," said Shin Tae-Yong.

Apart from Egy, Sandy Walsh and Jordi Amat have also not been able to strengthen the Garuda squad. These two names have actually joined the training camp, but have not been able to appear because their naturalization process has not been completed.

Minus a few players, Indonesia is optimistic that it will be able to beat the team which is ranked 188th in the FIFA rankings.

Victory will be an important asset for Lilipaly cs. who will face the 2023 Asian Cup Qualifiers on June 8-14. In that period, Indonesia will meet Kuwait, Jordan, and Nepal.
