JAKARTA – The U-23 Indonesian national team will face Thailand in the semifinals of the SEA Games Hanoi 2021. The duel of the two teams will take place at the Thien Truong Stadium, Vietnam, on Thursday, 19 May.

Kick off the match starts at 19.00 p.m. GMT+7 (Indonesian Time).

Indonesia headed to the semifinals after being runner-up in Group A. Meanwhile, Thailand entered the last four after occupying the top position in Group B.

During the group stage, Indonesia collected a total of three wins and one defeat. The three victories were won over Timor Leste, Myanmar and the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the only defeat was obtained by Indonesia against Vietnam in the inaugural match.

Thailand also won the group after getting similar results from five matches. Alexandre Polking's team won over Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, and lost to Malaysia.

The meeting of the two teams is a replay of the 2020 AFF Cup final which was held at the end of last year. At that time, Indonesia failed to come out as champion after losing in two legs.
