Marc Marquez Begins To Worry About 2022 MotoGP World Title Competition: Everything Becomes More Difficult

JAKARTA - Repsol Honda racer, Marc Marquez, began to worry about the performance of his RC213V motorcycle. He said, there must be development if you want to stay on the path of competing for the 2022 MotoGP world title.

This was conveyed by Marc Marquez after the Portugal MotoGP race last weekend. In that race, the Spaniard had to settle for finishing in sixth position.

Now Marc Marquez is in 11th position with 31 points. He is 38 points adrift of Fabio Quartararo and Alex Rins who are in positions one and two of the 2022 MotoGP riders' standings.

"Everything becomes a little more difficult in the world championship. If we want to fight for the podium at Jerez, we still have to find 'something' on our bike," said The Baby Alien, as reported by Speedweek.

"Yes, I can find many reasons in Portugal. I can say, our four free practice sessions took place on the wet track, so we didn't find the ideal setup for the race."

"I also lost one of the four races at Portimao in 2020 and 2021. But not all of them count. Because, when I have a bike that works well, I will go out and be in front," he continued.

According to Marquez, any condition will be easily overcome if you have found the right feeling with the motorbike. That is what the holder of the six MotoGP titles is still trying to find with his new mount this season.

"If you feel comfortable with your bike, conditions are not a problem. We are still finding confidence with this new bike," he said.

The 29-year-old racer admits there is still a long way to go. The 2022 season has only run for five series. However, Repsol Honda must immediately rise if it still wants to be counted in the race for the 2022 MotoGP title.

"Now we have an important GP race in Jerez. Even though the season is still long, we have to take a step forward now if we want to speak in the title fight," said Marc Marquez.
