La Liga Standings: Real Madrid Is Getting Stronger At The Top

JAKARTA - Real Madrid is increasingly leading the 2021–222 Spanish La Liga standings. The Los Blancos squad is now 15 points ahead of Barcelona who are trailing in second place.

Carlo Ancelotti's troops have collected 75 points from 32 matches that have been played. Their latest three points were obtained after a 3-2 win at Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium on Monday, April 18 in the morning.

In that match Madrid won dramatically through Karim Benzema's goal in second-half injury time. The other two goals for Los Blancos were scored by Rodrygo each in the 50th minute and Nacho in the 82nd minute.

In that match the hosts took the lead by two goals. Ivan Rakitic scored the lead in the 21st minute and Erik Lamela added another for Los Nervionenses four minutes later.

Madrid have so far played two games far more than Barcelona as their closest competitor. Blaugrana itself still has eight games remaining, but their chances of overtaking Los Blancos are very small.

Even though they still have two games remaining, Barcelona's position is still threatened by Sevilla and Atletico Madrid who are in the top four. Both teams both collected 60 points or equal to the acquisition of the Blaugrana.

Sevilla and Atletico have also played two games far more than Barcelona. However, there is a possibility that the position of these three teams could change at the end of the season.

Both Barcelona, Sevilla, and Atletico Madrid must also be wary of their position in the European Champions League zone. The reason is, Real Betis, who are in the fifth position in the standings, are only three points adrift of the three teams.
