Barcelona's Plan To Build Soccer School In West Nusa Tenggara, Not Only Beneficial For Football Talents But Also Sport Tourism

JAKARTA - Barcelona plans to build a soccer school (SSB) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), the representatives of the Spanish giants said in an online meeting with the Deputy Governor of NTB Sitti Rohmi Djalilah on Tuesday.

The Deputy Governor of NTB welcomed the plan, which he considered not only useful for finding football talent in his area but also in line with the mission of developing sports tourism.

"We really support young people to develop sports talent, especially soccer, and are open to cooperation in developing sports tourism," said the NTB Deputy Governor who attended the online meeting from Mataram, quoted from Antara, Wednesday.

The Deputy Governor of NTB hopes that Barcelona will immediately finalize the investment plan even further.

Barcelona's Head of Asia Pacific Business Development, Stephanie Chen, stated that the SSB concept brought by his team has been successfully applied in many countries.

It also plans to introduce opportunities for business partnerships to manage the Barcelona fan community.

"With the huge potential of Barcelona fans around the world and Indonesia as the most potential market, business cooperation will develop," said Chen.

Meanwhile, Barcelona's Southeast Asia and Oceania Commercial Partnership Manager Diani NM said NTB would get many benefits if the cooperation between the two parties could be realized.

"Starting from experienced professional coaches to bringing in legendary FC Barcelona players," said the woman from NTB.
