PBSI Not Extending Contract Of Assistant Coach For Women's Doubles Who Helped Greysia/Apriyani Win Olympic Gold

JAKARTA – The assistant coach for women's doubles, Chafidz Yusuf, has been officially kicked out of the PBSI National Training Center. He will not work on Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu and friends again after the contract is not extended.

The certainty of this information was conveyed directly by Chafidz through an upload to his Instagram account on Monday, January 24 evening.

Chafidz uploaded a video showing his togetherness with foster children, including his close relationship with the Greysia/Apriyani Olympic gold medalists. The upload was accompanied by a statement regarding his contract which was not renewed.

"Without intending to precede and seek sympathy where I have to accept the decision only until here so I have to resign. As a Muslim I can only be patient and accept all of this," Chafidz wrote accompanying his upload.

Chafidz has been a coach at PBSI since 2012 in the men's doubles sector. He then moved to the women's doubles sector and worked with the head coach, Eng Hian.

The success of Greysia/Apriyani in bringing home the gold medal from the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and then could not be separated from Chafidz's intervention. In addition, he also played a role for young women's doubles star Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti/Ribka Sugiarto.

"Hopefully everything will be more successful and hopefully we will be able to meet again somewhere in the future," he wrote closing the statement.

Although his name is not as famous as other coaches, Chafidz has a role for the current best men's doubles pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo. He was the first to pair the men's doubles nicknamed The Minions.

In addition, he is also the first to orbit the world number nine pair, namely Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto.
