Sabatini And Novela Complete The 2022 SEA Games Women's Tennis Squad

JAKARTA – The women's tennis team squad for the 2022 SEA Games is complete. Tennis players Fitriani Sabatini and Novela Rezha Milenia completed the Garuda team on the last day of selection.

Fitriani came out as the top selection at the Bung Karno Tennis Stadium, Jakarta. She swept the two closing matches on Thursday, January 13 yesterday.

"Fitriani and Novela are part of the SEA Games core team," said coach Deddy Tedjamukti in a statement received by VOI.

In the closing match Fitriani managed to beat Putu Armini, 6-2, 6-1 and Keila Mangesti Paath, 6-2, 6-2. Total Ani recorded a 6-1 loss-win record.

Meanwhile, Novela Rezha Milenia (Papua) trailed in second place. She sealed a place in the Indonesian national team squad for the interstate sports event in the Southeast Asian region.

Following in third place is the name Fadona Titalyana. She has a 5-2 win-loss record similar to Novel's, but lost head-to-head with the Papuan representative.

Fitriana Sabrina's name followed in fourth position. This result made him have to settle for filling in the reserve team with Fadona.

Fitriani and Novela will be debutants and complement the existing Red and White squad. Previously, Pelti had trusted Aldila Sutjiadi, Jessy Rompies, and Beatrice Gumulya in the core team.

At the previous SEA Games in the Philippines in 2019, Indonesia became the overall champion in the tennis branch after successfully winning three gold medals.

The three gold medals were respectively contributed by Aldila from the women's singles, Beatrice Gumulya/Jessy Rompies women's doubles, and Aldila and Christopher Rungkat mixed doubles.
