Congratulations! Mason Mount Sets Record At 22 Years And 340 Days

JAKARTA - Mason Mount scored an individual record when he scored in a series of matches in Week 17 of the Premier League, but Chelsea only drew 1-1 against Everton at Stamford Bridge Stadium, London, Thursday local time.

Mount scored to break the deadlock after 70 minutes as the Cobham dropout completed Reece James' through ball to put Chelsea in front.

The goal made Mount the youngest player to score for Chelsea in four consecutive Premier League games at the age of 22 years and 340 days.

Unfortunately, Chelsea's advantage did not last long because four minutes later the visitors were able to take advantage of a set piece situation when Jarrad Branthwaite cheated on Anthony Gordon's free kick.

Chelsea tried to restore their lead in the 80th minute but goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made a brilliant save to parry Thiago Silva's sharp header for Hakim Ziyech's corner.

The draw lasted until the game was over and it was a sad result for Chelsea, because they appeared so dominant with 80 percent of possession and released no less than 23 attempted shots throughout the match.

The whistle of dispersal was greeted by a chorus of ridicule from the host public, because Chelsea only won eight points from the last five matches.

Chelsea is stuck in third place in the standings with 37 points and is now four points behind leaders Manchester City.

As for Everton, the additional one point they earned was not enough to change their position in 14th place in the standings with 19 points, according to the Premier League's official website.

In the next match, Chelsea will travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton on Sunday (19/12), while Everton has to rest because their match against Leicester City which was originally played the day before has been decided to be postponed due to the spike in Covid-19 cases in the opposing squad.
