International Pause After, Elkan Baggot And Egy Maulana Vikri Go Home

JAKARTA - Two Indonesian national team players, Elkan Baggot and Egy Maulana Vikry have been confirmed to return home after playing a test match in Turkey. Both players were repatriated by the national team to their respective clubs.

"That's right, Elkan Baggott and Egy (Maulana Vikri) have returned to their respective clubs", said the assistant coach of the Indonesian national team, Nova Arianto, from a written statement received by VOI.

Egy was returned to his club FK Senica in the Slovak League, while Elkan returned to England to rejoin his club, Ipswich Town U-23.

Both Egy and Elkan did get permission from their respective clubs to join the national team. But they are only allowed to be absent from the club during the international break or FIFA match day on 8-16 November 2021.

After the break ended, Egy and Elkan had to return to their respective cages. However, Nova said that Elkan would rejoin the national team in Singapore to appear in the 2020 AFF Cup.

But for Egy, his presence later is still in doubt. Because until now PSSI is still communicating with FK Senica to ask for permission to bring the player to the 2020 AFF Cup.

"Baggott, the plan is that on December 1, 2021, he will join directly in Singapore", explained the former Persib Bandung player.

"For Egy, we are still communicating with his club whether he can return to the Indonesian national team or not", Nova continued.

Even though Egy and Elkan have returned to their respective clubs, the national team's agenda in Turkey continues. Evan Dimas et al are still undergoing training camps and will return to play one more test match in preparation for appearing in the 2020 AFF Cup, next December in Singapore.

The Garuda squad will face Myanmar on November 25. This match does not include FIFA match day.
