Indonesia Only Has 4 Representatives In The Quarter-Finals Of The Indonesia Masters, Apriyani: It's OK, Just Keep It Up

JAKARTA - Indonesian women's doubles Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu secured a place in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Masters 2021. Greysia/Apriyani closed out two games with a 21-17, 21-19 victory on Thursday night.

With this victory, Greysia/Apriyani managed to advance to the quarter-finals and became the only Indonesian representative in the women's doubles. They are also one of the four representatives for Indonesia at the Indonesia Masters 2021.

Realizing that Indonesia only has four representatives, Greysia/Apriyani was surprised. But they admitted that they would stay focused and work hard to get the best results at the Indonesia Masters 2021.

"Yeah, it's okay, just keep the spirit. We are more focused on the game, step by step. For the others, hopefully, we will get the best results here," Apriyani said in a press conference after the match, reported Antara, Friday.

In an effort to confirm a ticket, Greysia/Apriyani admitted that they did not find any major problems. Facing Clara Azurmendi/Beatriz Corrales from Spain, the Indonesian women's doubles only needed a little adjustment on the field they were trying out for the first time.

"Today we started the match and earlier there were still a few adjustments on the pitch because the situation was different from training," said Greysia.

"But thank God we were able to win the game and without any injuries."

In that encounter with Clara/Beatriz, Greysia/Apriyani did play at a slow tempo in the first game. This is because both of them still need field adjustments. Luckily, despite being overshadowed by Clara/Beatriz in the Indonesian women's doubles, they were able to win points.

After making sure that they qualify for the quarter-finals, Greysia/Apriyani must prepare because they will meet the women's doubles of Thailand's Puttita Supajirakul/Sapsiree Taerattanachai.
