Complaining Despite Qualifying For The Round Of 16 Of The Indonesia Masters, Kento Momota: Shuttlecock Is A Bit Heavy

JAKARTA - The world's number one badminton player, Kento Momota managed to secure a place in the round of 16 of the 2021 Indonesia Masters. Even though it looks easy, Momota has a complaint about the match.

According to Momota, he had difficulty adapting to the shuttlecock used at this event. The Japanese badminton player assessed that the shuttlecock used was heavier than usual.

"The shuttlecock here is a bit heavy. Usually, when I play in Indonesia, the shuttlecock is not this heavy and it affects my game," said Momota after the match in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday.

Momota himself managed to secure a place in the round of 16 after defeating Indonesia's leading step, Tommy Sugiarto. At the meeting at the Bali International Convention Center & The Westin Resort, Nusa Dua, Bali, Tuesday, November 16, Momota won 21-12 and 21-16.

Even though he finally won, Momota was left behind in the early points of the second game. Momota admitted this because he was surprised by the wind direction that affected his game.

"At the beginning of the second game, at the beginning of changing the field, the wind direction was very influential. Luckily, I was able to read a little about the game and put out my best game," said Momota.

After overthrowing Tommy Sugiarto, Momota will face Lakshya Sen from India.
